And by preparing we mean shopping. According to Wallethub, the average household is expected to spend around $346.50 on Independence Day this year. Thatï ¿ ½s probably more than you expected to pay for some hot dogs, beer and sparklers, which is why the folks at Wallethub suggest creating and sticking to a 4th of July budget. There are unexpected costs that will come up, especially if you plan on travelling.
